Summary0000412: Would it be possible to remove the title bar from the windows of Cin
DescriptionIn order to recover the title bar space of all Cin windows, this could be controlled by a menu option of the right mouse button.

Thus, once the Cin windows are well arranged in the space of our monitor(s), this option would allow us to recover spaces that are not very useful.

It would just be necessary to keep the possibility to readjust the shape of the windows by their contours.

It would be possible to save these different arrangements by the already existing function.

This might be possible to vary by the window manager on your particular system itself, but it is not something controllable by Cinelerra. There are a variety of window managers out there for different Operating Systems. In the old days X11 Motif was the window manager but now there is gnome, kde, wayland, and so on and so forth, i.e. lots of variations.

The only way to do this by Cinelerra is for it to completely take over the window management and it is just way beyond anything we can do.

Thank you, Phyllis,

I understand that this will not be possible.

Even if it turned out that my windows manager allowed it... it would certainly not be possible to activate it only for cin without affecting the other windows of the system and to be able to easily activate or deactivate it at will...

So the only real solution would be to design a new interface that wouldn't include all those independent windows... Well, now... A feature film by Steven Spielberg will probably be edited on Cinelerra-GG before that happens...

Sorry Pierre if I reply to your request.
I need to see the title bar to know what window I am working on (mainly, for Effects, but also the others).
If implemented that feature, I hope it is an option. Sorry for this personal opinion.

@IgorBeg: no problem, I had proposed it from the start as an option that can be activated (and deactivated) through the context menu of the mouse (right button).

But I understood from Phyllis' explanation that this was not possible and was rather the responsibility of the distribution's windows manager.

Otherwise, we're talking about a brand new interface for cin... and... the colonization of Mars might happen before that...

The humor is quite enjoyable right now. After Mars is colonized, there will be time to re-open this but it really is not do-able.
