| Summary | 0000079: AudioALSA::write_buffer err -32(Broken relay (pipe)) at sample 1 | ||||
| Description | When I open an old project I created this fall under Cinelerra-GG I now receive a window: "Cinelerra: Be careful" which contains the following message: "Warning: XML of a version of cinelerra Unity Session data may be incompatible." As soon as I start playing the terminal tells me: "AudioALSA::write_buffer err -32(Broken relay (pipe)) at sample 1" The sources are composed of 13 files (HDV) mp2.m2t 1440x1080, 29.97 fps, 48000 KHz. What should I do to resolve this situation? pierre@i7-3770k ~ $ /home/stone/Cinelerra-GG_5.1/cin Cinelerra Infinity - built: Dec 23 2018 18:47:47:19 git://git.cinelerra-gg.org/goodguy/cinelerra.git (c) 2006-2018 Heroine Virtual Ltd. by Adam Williams (c) 2007-2018 cin5 derivative by W.P. The below message does not matter -- it resulted from changing the version number from 5.1 to Unity to Unify to Infinity "Warning: XML of a version of cinelerra Unity Session data may be incompatible." The "AudioALSA::write_buffer err -32(Broken relay (pipe)) at sample 1" message is actually coming from the ALSA library and passed to cin. Check your Settings->Preferences, Playback A and the usual setting for Audio Out are: Audio Driver: ALSA Device: default Bits: 16 bit linear Anything could be wrong or some "Jack" interference. You can run an independent test using the line: aplay -c 2 -r 48000 -f S16_LE /tmp/ring.raw with the ring.raw file that is attached. |

The only possibility that I can find for this message is something is wrong with the audio: AudioALSA::write_buffer err -32(Broken pipe) at sample 3361 So I am closing this issue until we can somehow get more details and even then with the varying sound cards / operating systems / setups, I think it will be impossible to find the cause from our location. I do get similar errors in 4 cases: 1) I stop playing in Cin-gg while the audio is in progress. 2) Running on a computer where there is no sound card. 3) Messing up the Settings->Preferences, Playback tab audio parameters. 4) Maybe when playing "tunes" outside cinelerra, and then trying to play inside cinelerra simultaneously. |
